We had been to some rather outlying parts of Sheffield and wandered well off the beaten track to get the images I sought before making our way into more central parts of the city.
We were walking along a street in, what looked like, quite a trendy area when I spotted this lady and I thought she looked striking, amazing and rather beautiful.
I instantly knew I wanted to photograph her. However I am a significantly shy person and
not the most confident in the world either (those who know me well will know this). Could I push beyond my comfort zone and bring myself to ask her ?
We walked to the next alley way to shoot some more art and on the way out I told my
friend I wanted to shoot this lady and was going to go and ask her (gulp ... and increased heart rate) as I turned around two other people walked up to her and started talking to her !! Grrr , oh great make it even
harder for me to push beyond my comfort zone - I turner to my friend and she just
smiled and laughed.
So I asked if we had more art further along and she said yes and we went to the next alley
and took shots there. We turned around and headed back to the car. By the time we reached
the lady the other two people were still talking to her. I knew I'd really regret it if I didn't ask.
So I plucked up courage and went for it before I could bottle out and asked if she'd feel
comfortable with me taking some photos of her. She was very obliging and is a really
lovely and interesting person.
Many, many thanks Yas for letting me take the photos of you and it was a real pleasure meeting you. x
